Why Do the “Karachiite-type” Men Fall For Punjabi Women?—A REBUTTAL

Although the 85 people who read my blog(more on my persuasion than anything else) know that I have a style, I write about my past experiences and girl-methods but this Why Do the “Karachiite-type” Men Fall For Punjabi Women? blog post by Farahnaz Zahidi stirred a thought and may be I need to write what a guy goes through while making this discussion. Some ground rules have to be denied first
1.     Not all people I will mention have the same traits, but based on my experience and research I come to the indicated conclusions
2.     I have seen both the Punjab and the Karachi life, so I know how people in both regions operate.

THE REASONS:
Coming to the point,  the reasons miss farhana gave are somewhat true, but if there is a pull factor in the “gori punjaban”, there is a push factor in the intelligent down to earth trendy tan faced karachite chick.

We are lookers
Yes, we brown men are interested in white skin.PERIOD…..this is what moms all over the united states of Karachi look for in their up-coming "bahus"…the statement “bahu gori to bachay piyare”, do you even know the average color of a karachite boy, I don’t think I need to be a racist, im not brad pitt either…and doctor and slim….a moms dream for her son (just coz he earns)

Khulla dulla style:
Being raised in Punjab and thrived in the awesome karachistan I have learned that the khulla dulla style in Punjab is way better then the double faced manipulative planner of a mind under the sophisticated hood of the Karachi women clan. You keep things in and become the shadow of star plus figures we so hate.

Need a change
“Yes, we do need a change from the app janab style we have seen all our lives in our homs” says a Karachite doc, handsome and eligible. But mind you that change is not from the “light blues and pastel pinks and beige” clothes but the manipulative mind sets they have seen all their lives. Yes the manipulative nature of the star plus screen being shown everyday in the daily affairs between bhabhis-nands and all the other variants in the household relationship. Plain and simple , these non-punjbii guys don’t want to come home to the same issues they have seen their dads come to all their life…..the issues are still unresolved…..their dads surrendering long time back.

Foodies-final nail:
Yes, this is what mothers teach in Punjab, making food for the family is more important than laying the chess board in each and every relationship you ever have. After the work hours that is atleast exected, not everybody can make a chef taste meal, the effort though is always praised. The down side of the chess-board strategy, you don’t win them all and in the end your left alone like the king without his wazeer…..you win one today, and the opponent forces are growing, you will get striked back…..SOON

P.s. sorry if I have come out harsh and have been a touch racist on color and looks, but seeing both sides of the pictures I am in the right to pick my peace of mind and food for thought in the near and far future.

  1. Urdu speaking woman are generally educated and sophisticated. Even my grandmother went to college which is not sth most punjabi families can claim i.e. generations of open minded, educated women. For most of them educating women is just first or second generation at best. Plus most Urdu speaking men I know find Punjabi woman a HUGE turn off.

    2. agreed........US of karachi k bahir kia hota hai....people seldom know about that,,,,,all they want is a gori doc......

    3. My grandmother also went to college and that too in a hostel in Bahawalpur (as college was not near her village at that time). EVEN my great grandfather (grandmother's dad) went to MAO College in India (before partition) and did his Bachelors before partition. They're all punjabis from generations!

Do not under estimate Punjabis (or anyone for that). Agreed, come out of the US of Karachi & you'll find out many things.

well, I dont know why urdu speaking people always compare them from whole punjab ...most of them even never been. there ....a bunch of urdi speaking community claiming that they r ones more educated...eh gimme a break.....do u know u just compared some thousands with the millions.....I am urdu speaking and I must admit that we r the most inferiority complex stricken creatures always desperate to tell the world "abay hum ziada parhay likhay han bay ...oye ...abay "....

  4. Making scheme is hardly sth that can be identified to women of a particular ethnicity. It depends on who the individual is. I know some pretty, nasty scheming people myself. Things which can be identified to ethnicity are: historically most people who came from cities in the United Province like Lucknow, Delhi etc were more educated and had greater exposure to culture. This meant, women were also increasingly educated, had liberal mind frames etc. By contrast, the Punjab had largely a rural population. Except from some families, women would be less exposed to culture, education.

Also the writer seems to have a pretty nasty family. But that is not sth which can be identified only with the Urdu speaking community. My ex was a punjabi guy and boy the women in his family were full indian drama-like always

    2. @ditched by a punjabi ex

well this is typical of we urdu speaking people that we hav a stiff neck, always relating things to racism considering ourselves superior for God knows what reason. The greater portion of urdu speaking community is concentrated in areas like landhi korangi malir new karachi etc as these are the densely populated areas of karachi and most urdu speaking migrants from india preferred to live there because of their lower financial status. And everyone is aware of the educational level of people living in these areas. Sister, I don't know what has been wrong in your relationship with your punjabi ex and that's making u pass such illiterate arguments. I am a proud urdu speaking and hav a bunch of punjabi friends, both girls as well as boys. you shouldn't b judgmental about the whole community by just having a bad experience with your ex which I m sure u had.

  6. I guess the judgement comes down to wire.....there is little to differ between the 2 sexes of both cultures, as stated time and time again by the original writer " this is all for fun " i say let the comedy stage of both culture decide the looks, personality, titlee ness charms , colours and education be the decider ...think of karachi drama personalities ( Omer Sharif clang vs lahori stage thumkaa clang ) and decide your self is "abey" culture a winner or the thumkaass or niether....:-)

  7. this article is more relevant for a period up to 90s...thinking across pakistan have changed especially amongst the age group up to mid or late 30s....
white skin....although taste is a very personal thing but beyonce's arrival created interest for kala/ tan complexion and not gora...gora is old school.....
khulla dulla style....you gotta be kidding me...in this day and age you need your wife to be polished/ presentable/ groomed whether she is from karachi/ lahore/ peshawar/ quetta.....
need a change....after ten years into marriage..one is looking for a change :)..
foodies...not many wives cook in pakistan these days...its either the khansama or khana pakanay walee maasee...
ur article is quite old school hence not funny :)

    2. I agree with you. In the upper middle class onwards to elite class mothers & wives don't cook mostly (especially in urban areas).

Yes a wife should be presentable.

Fun loving people can be anywhere. I myself am a Punjabi girl and I pay particular attention to my grooming. Everyone cannot be judged with the same scale.

I have come across men who like tan women. But yes, majority still likes Gora Rang!

  8. I am a Punjabi, married and have a child. I have lived in Karachi since 1991.
I have seen the chess games and Hidden Agenda tactics in almost all (may be there is an exception) people i know from Karachi.

We shared a house with a guy from Punjab and he was such a sweet person, caring, and everything until he married a karachi gril and everything changed. And when her wife went away for few months, he was same old person again.

What i fail to understand is that why an average Jane Doe from Karachi has this manipulative attitude. Do they teach these things to girls at home or its just the way they are brought up.

As for as i am concerned, i would never prefer to have a Karachi girl, not for me not for anyone i know.

    Its just a personal choice.

  10. Punjabi girls' khulla dhulla style can be evident in pujabi stage/theatre shows which I guaranteed not liked by Karachi men in there homes..
